Comicoperando in Amsterdam

A tribute to the music of Robert Wyatt

The project Comicoperando is a tribute to the music of Robert Wyatt, the legendary singer and drummer of the Canterbury scene, and refers to his solo album Comic Opera (2007). The project was founded by friends and long-time collaborators of Wyatt, who interpret his songs.

In May 2011, at the main Amsterdam jazz venue Bimhuis were performing: Dagmar Krause, Annie Whitehead, Karen Mantler, Michel Delville, John Edwards and Chris Cutler.

This short film contains excerpts from that concert as well as extensive interviews with musicians about their encounters with Robert Wyatt and the genesis of the Comicoperando project.

Shot at Bimhuis in Amsterdam, May 19th, 2011.
