Matthias Schubert (born 1960 in Kassel, Germany) is a German oboe and saxophone player.
In 1992 he formed Matthias Schubert Quartetts with Simon Nabatov, Tom Rainey, Lindsey Homer.
Together with Carl Ludwig Hübsch, Frank Gratkowski und Norbert Stein he formed James Choice Orchestra, that become later Multiple Joy[ce] Ensemble.
He played with Karl Berger, Klaus König, Kathrin Lemke, Jeanne Lee, Joachim Ullrich, Andreas Willers, Xu Fengxia, Scott Fields, Uwe Oberg, Uli Böttcher, Wolter Wierbos, Alois Kott.
He performed also in Euro Jazz Band, Graham Collier Band, Marty Cook Group, Andreas Willers Octet, Carl Ludwig Hübsch’s Longrun Development Of The Universe, Hübsch Acht, Juergen Wuchner Quintet, Jungle Pilots, Lurk Lab, Scott Fields Ensemble, Szilárd Mezei International Ensemble, Uwe Oberg Quartett.
